Wait. A drone that doesn’t fly?
Exactly. TREAD is a concept for a compact camera rover that moves on twin rubber tank treads. Instead of aerial footage, it explores a cinematic ground-level perspective. Think camera companion, not aircraft.
Can TREAD follow me automatically?
Subject following is a core development goal, alongside manual phone controls. Tracking performance, range, speed and supported environments would need to be validated with working prototypes. The concept imagery is not a demonstration of tested tracking.
Is TREAD available to buy?
Not yet. This is a pre-launch concept campaign, not a live Kickstarter or store. Reward prices are illustrative, and this site does not collect payments or guarantee a production release.
What camera and battery will it have?
The vision is a stabilized camera in a compact chassis with a rechargeable battery. Camera resolution, recording formats, runtime and charging details have not been finalized. Confirmed specifications should come after prototype testing.
Where could it go?
The intended starting point is flat indoor floors, smooth pavement and light outdoor terrain. Performance on grass, gravel and uneven trails would require testing. Stairs, water, steep slopes and traffic are not assumed safe or supported.
Can it film my pet or my kids?
Those are fun creative possibilities, with adult supervision and an appropriate clear area. TREAD is not a child-monitoring, pet-supervision or safety device. Its moving treads would need thoughtful safety design and testing.
Are these real product photos?
The images are AI-generated concept visualizations. The short teaser animates those still images rather than showing moving-product footage. They communicate the intended experience and design direction; they are not photographs of finished hardware or evidence of performance.
What happens when I save my launch interest?
